Hostel Casa Vecchia – Brela, Croatia

Casa Veccchia is certainly the best hostel in Croatia. It’s located in Brela, on the main road, between Split and Makarska(50km from Split and 10km from Makarska). My rating for this hostel is a clean 100%.

First time I’ve stayed at Casa Vecchia was 5 years ago, just after it had opened. We were backpacking from Pula to Dubrovnik, along the seaside, and found this hostel by accident. We just wanted to stop for one night to take a shower and have a good sleep, but we’ve ended up staying for three nights. And it happened to be the best three days of our trip. Since then, every year we plan a 10days trip to Brela.

Location

  • From the hostel you can get to the beach in 10 minutes by going down some stairs.
  • Brela has some of the best beaches in Croatia. You can see the symbol of Brela(the 9 meters high rock) on many postal cards with Croatia seaside.
  • The water is crystal clear.
  • Easy access to tons of activities, like rafting, boat trips, ski jets, para-sailing , scuba, mountain climbing and many more.
  • One day trip to Dubrovnic.
  • One day trip to plitvice lakes.

Accomodation

  • The hostel is very clean.
  • The price is nothing.
  • It has female rooms, mixed and private rooms.
  • Many bathrooms, a kitchen, WiFi, a bar and no curfew.
  • You’ll get to meet Betsy, the  famous Darts machine.
  • The guys there bring new improvements every year.

Parties

  • Crazy Parties all the time! Boat parties, BBQ parties, Tequila parties … you name it.  Great place to socialize.

Attention:

If you want a quiet stay and you don’t like parties and you don’t like to meet cool people, then Casa Vecchia is not for you.
